Isla Fisher reveals cast came ‘pretty close’ to making Wedding Crashers sequel
Isla Fisher would be thrilled to play Gloria again.
Isla Fisher has revealed she and her Wedding Crashers co-stars came “pretty close” to making a sequel.
Vince Vaughn and Owen Wilson, who played the titular wedding crashers in the 2005 hit comedy, have been in talks with director David Dobkin about a follow-up in recent years, but the project seems to have stalled.
Giving an update in an interview with E! News, their co-star Isla revealed that they came close to making a sequel happen.
“There have been conversations where we were pretty close,” the Australian star shared. “Vince and Owen have such an incredible chemistry and you just feel it from the screen. It’s palpable and it’s its own hilarious beast, so I want to see them on camera again doing what they do best.”
Isla then teased that some of the cast are “still keen” on making a sequel.
“Fingers crossed we make another one,” she added. “It’d be such a fun way to all get back together.”
If the sequel did get the go-ahead, the Now You See Me actress would be thrilled to play Vince’s on-screen love interest Gloria again.
“She’s such a fun character,” she raved. “It’s also so rare, as a woman, to be in a comedy where you get to make jokes and not just be the straight man.”
Wedding Crashers also starred Christopher Walken, Rachel McAdams, Bradley Cooper and Will Ferrell.
