Henry Golding teases A Simple Favor sequel
Henry Golding claimed the sequel is “turning up the dial to the max”.
Director Paul Feig is “pulling out all the stops” with A Simple Favor 2, according to Henry Golding.
The Crazy Rich Asians actor has teased what fans can expect from the sequel to the 2018 film, in which he starred alongside Blake Lively and Anna Kendrick.
“Paul is pulling out all the stops and bringing the fans what they loved so much about the first. Just the hilariousness and all the absurdity of the situation,” he told Entertainment Tonight on Monday night, adding that the sequel is “turning up the dial to the max”.
In a separate interview with Extra, Golding also shared that fans can expect more envy-inducing costumes from the leading ladies.
“The outfits are gonna be like ten million times cooler,” he said. “I don’t know if even that’s possible because Blake’s outfits, they’re all phenomenal.”
He added, “We’ve got additional cast members and it’s just gonna be leaning into the absurdity and the fun we had on the first one… it’s been four or five years since we last filmed together so (it’s) awesome.”
In the 2018 film, Golding played Sean Townsend, the husband of Lively’s character Emily Nelson, whose web of lies is uncovered following her disappearance. The sequel follows Emily and her friend Stephanie, played by Kendrick, as they head to Capri in Italy for Emily’s wedding to a rich Italian businessman.
In set photos published earlier this month, Lively can be seen getting married to Italian actor Michele Morrone in a romantic waterfront ceremony.
Golding revealed to ET on Monday that he was also there for the scene but “didn’t get any photos”.
He added, “Maybe I gave away too much.”
A Simple Favor 2 is currently without a release date.
