Emma Corrin has revealed they felt “so bad” after their Deadpool & Wolverine character killed off a fan favourite.
The Hollywood star, who uses the they/them pronouns, has joined the Marvel Cinematic Universe as supervillain Cassandra Nova. Emma recalled their discomfort as they watched one particular scene involving the untimely demise of Chris Evans’ character Human Torch.
“I felt so bad when we were in the screening the other day,” the star told British GQ. “Because we watched it after the New York premiere with all these Lincoln Center full of fans, and everyone was so excited when they see him appear on screen, and then after three minutes, I’ve killed him. I felt terrible.”
Emma also admitted feeling the need to hide from fans so they couldn’t vent their frustration.
“I was hiding in my seat,” they explained. “Yeah, it was weird. Not something I thought I’d be doing if you’d asked me a few years ago.”
Chris’ brief cameo in Deadpool & Wolverine came as a welcome surprise to Marvel fans.
He wasn’t the only MCU star to make an appearance in the film starring Ryan Reynolds and Hugh Jackman in the title roles.
Also joining Chris were Jennifer Garner as Elektra, Channing Tatum as Gambit and Wesley Snipes as Blade.
