Sharon Stone doesn’t know why 15-year-old movie What About Love is being released

Sharon Stone insisted the film “wasn’t good enough” when it was made.

Sharon Stone doesn’t know why her 15-year-old movie What About Love was released this year.

The Basic Instinct actress revealed on The Louis Theroux Podcast that the romantic drama, directed by Klaus Menzel, “wasn’t good enough” when she made it so she doesn’t know why it has seen the light of day now.

When host Louis noted that she has a movie coming out, she replied, “I don’t. I mean, they are actually putting out a movie that’s a fifteen-year-old movie I did with Andy Garcia that wasn’t good enough to put out when we completed it. The director was a first time director and it didn’t come together and I’m not sure why they’re putting it out now. Maybe they’ve re-edited it fifteen hundred times, I don’t know why they’re putting it out now.”

The Casino star, whose last film was released in 2022, speculated that What About Love has resurfaced due to the public interest in her.

“I’ve explained to my management (that) I think it’s supply and demand and I don’t think I have enough projects, people want projects from me and we don’t have projects to give them,” she added.

According to IMDb, What About Love was filmed in 2012 and its first trailer dropped in 2013. At one point, it had a release date of Valentine’s Day 2020 but after repeated delays, it received a limited U.S. release exactly four years later.
